Sorry, I meant to call back in with details of useful plants etc and lost time to do so (I did the Forest Gardening course by Martin Crawford-really interesting agroforestry.co.uk) Nicotiana mutabilis is the white, pink to red flowered gem thats worth growing [T&Ms commercial site does the seed direct2grower.com]
Also sarahraven.com is good for ideas on fashionable annuals, perennials, bulbs and edibles I use her catalogues to give my Berks,Hants,Wilts garden clients inspiration. Have Fun Growing!

Thanks Piers – we do a bit of browsing through the SR catalogue, too. Definitely going to grow some of that Nicotiana next year. Now, though, we’re about to start dealing with the bulbs we’ve just received – got some really unusual Fritilliaries to plant!
      Cheers
      Dan

Hi. Came into your lovely nursery on Saturday 29th November, bought some plants and had a coffee and a lovely piece of cake. The question is – please can you let me know the recipe for the delicious spicy indian cake we had.
    Many thanks Sheila Foster

Hi Sheila – was it the apple cake you had?

        Hi Dan
Yes I think it was. It certainly had an indian spice taste.

Hi – I’ve just moved to Totnes and would like to visit you when the cafe reopens. I don’t have a car – is it possible to reach you by bus?
    Thanks. Lesley

      Hi Lesley
Yes – you can get the 165 from Totnes, by the Seven Stars, which stops at Huxhams Cross. It’s a 300 yard walk from the bus stop (take the right to Staverton and we’re on the left.)
      Regards
